Take charge of you health!

Ant and the Grasshopper

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his
house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays
the
summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.

The grasshopper has no food or shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

Stop making excuses why you are not in shape. Stop blaming others and society for a lack of inactivity. Be responsible for your own actions. Become head strong and increase will power, take charge of your life. TRAIN HARD!

No Time No Problem

There are always life events getting in the way of fitness. When you feel like you are pressed for time try this kick butt routine:

Start of Korean Jumping Jacks (to rush blood to lower body making it tougher for upper work.

1. Push-Ups
2. Mountain Climbers
3. Crybabies
4. Jumping Jacks
5. Side to Side Shuffle
6. Body Weight Speed Squats
7. Bodyweight Renegade Row
8. Rope Climbers

Try to see how many rounds you can get in during a 20 minute duration. Keep form perfect. Keep Reps at 10-15 per round. Good Luck and as always Train For A Purpose.

Train the Body as a Unit!

Training the body as a unit has a large meaning to itself. It does not simple mean train the body parts all in one day. It means your training sessions should involve Strength Patterns and Power Movements, Flexibility, Raised Heart Rates, Metal Focus.
Training sessions involving all these aspects brings the body to become more of a unit. With the mind and body in focus, the intensity will be throughout. You will put more effort into your strength and power movements and will see greater gains. Having an raised heart rate will have your body needing energy to get through workouts so more calories will be burned. Adding flexibility towards the end or even during some of your movement patterns during the strength phase wiill keep the body long and lessen the change of future injuries. Train as a Unit and as always train with a purpose.

Todays Toughest Workout

Clients had a great day of training today. Some of the more experienced clients took part in what I like to call A Count Down To Extension. This is truly a physical and mentally tough workout. It goes as follows:

1. Korean Jumping Jacks (Jumping Split Squats)
1b. Bear Crawls BW
2a. Push-Ups
2b. Bear Crawls FW
3a. Crybabies
3b. Bear Crawls BW
4a. Sumo Squats
4b. Bear Crawl FW
5a. Shoulder Marching
5b. Bear Crawl BW
6a. Slide Board Mountain Climbers
6b. Bear Crawls FW
7a. Buddha Crunch
7b. Bear Crawls BW
8a. Row 500 Meters

For each of the A portion of the workout the client would perform 15-20 per exercise. The Bear Crawls would be from end to end in the studio, so in other words the would crawl on hands and feet to the next portion of the round. That was their rest, the bear crawls. Your goal is to go through this about 3 or 4 times. Try to finish in the fastest time possible but be sure to have great form on each of the exercises. Any questions on description on the exercises or time frame of the workout just ask.

Train With A Purpose

I think to many people (because of society) train with the soul intent of looking good. For some, that is reason enough, however, that reason of training won't get you in life . What if I were to give you a brand new Red Ferrari F430 for free, but you were only allowed to have a 1977 Volkswagen Engine inside. From the outside it would look perfect, but on the inside there would be a sluggish engine, just waiting to fall apart as the years go on. We have to look at our bodies the same way and our training programs have to be able to build the body from the inside out.

Training for strength gain, flexibility, endurance, power, quickness, stability, and speed is examples of things we should be working on. When ever you step in Corso's Core Conditioning, or any other facility always have the mindset and tell yourself "Train with a Purpose.
